Madeleine Pahl, MD (Treasurer)

Dr. Madeleine V. Pahl is Professor Emeritus of Medicine at University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of California, Irvine and went on to train in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at University of California, Los Angeles and Irvine training programs. She joined the Nephrology faculty at UC Irvine in 1982 and remained in that program as an academic clinician and educator until retirement in December 2016.
During her career she has served in multiple roles, including Training Program Director, President of the School of Medicine Academic Senate and Chief of the Division of Nephrology. She has trained more that 80 nephrology fellows, some of whom have pursued successful academic careers. Her research interests have included focus on gut-kidney access, pregnancy in kidney disease and genetic disorders such as Fabry-Anderson Disease. She has more than 100 publications, reviews and book chapters and these can be viewed at PubMed (nih.gov).
Dr. Pahl has been a member of WIN for more than 20 years and is now privileged to be serving as Treasurer for 2025 and 2026.
