Niloofar Nobakht, MD, FASN (Councilor )
Dr. Nobakht is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine in Nephrology at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.
Her clinical and research focus includes hypertension, diabetes, polycystic kidney disease, and women’s health in patients with chronic kidney disease. She is an active faculty member of the American Society of Nephrology and serves as an Executive Councilor at Large for Women in Nephrology. Dr. Nobakht spearheaded the Women’s Health Research Projects in a multidisciplinary fashion aimed at improving care for women with kidney disease and hypertension. She is a strong advocate for the role of lifestyle in promoting overall health and well-being. She is the founder of the Music and Kidney Program and has been recognized for her innovative initiative in Music & Medicine. In 2024, she was nominated and selected for the AAMC Mid-Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar.
